The history of humanity is described in the holy books that form the basis of the three heavenly religions, the Torah, the Bible and the Holy Quran, as descended from the descendants of Adam and Eve. In order of arrival; These three major religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, accept that humanity is descended from Adam and Eve. This perspective is generally accepted from past to present and provides us with an important framework about the early periods and continuity of human history. Humanity, descended from the descendants of Adam and Eve, spread over a wide geography in the world. This demographic spread paved the way for the emergence of numerous languages, cultures and races. Today, there are approximately 5000 ethnic groups and around 200 independent states in the world.
In ancient times, as the population of people living in small communities increased, social conflicts and problems became inevitable over time. This situation initiated large-scale migrations for the discovery and settlement of new regions. However, over time, the development of maritime enabled them to reach new continents such as North America, South America and Australia. This process is of great importance for the expansion of humanity and the interaction of different cultures.
We know that the geological history of our Earth has a period of 4.55 billion years. Human history is approximately two hundred thousand years old. Looking at the last two centuries of this historical process, humanity met with the industrial revolution in the 18th century and was introduced to industrial and technological inventions such as the telegraph, telephone, radio, cinema, camera, steam ship, train and automobile. This has significantly expanded the ability of human communities to communicate and interact on a global scale. The Industrial Revolution not only brought technological advances that made our lives easier, but also transformed social and economic dynamics. While the majority of the world’s population lived in rural areas and villages until the late 18th century, cities became an important population center with industrialization.
This demographic change has radically affected not only people’s physical spaces but also their social and cultural lives. People who were separated from their usual environments and social networks had to adapt to the new order brought by urban life. Over the course of history, these revolutionary changes have presented both great opportunities and significant challenges for humanity. While technological advances have made human life easier, they have also transformed social and economic structures and brought with them new and serious social problems.
Conflict and warlike tendencies that mark human history are as old as humanity itself. These tendencies, which have constantly led to wars and destruction in the past, have profoundly affected human history. While humanity aims to use technological and social progress to make their lives easier, unfortunately, it has turned the same progress into a tool that will further fuel its own internal conflicts and contradictions. As a result, there was destruction that cost the lives of millions of people.
Humanity, descended from Adam and Eve, has experienced various social transformations throughout history by experiencing different ways of thinking and living. Some moral problems arising from these lifestyles have posed great challenges for humanity. The basis of the problems lies in our moving away from our moral values in the face of rapidly advancing technological developments and the changing world order. While humanity has kept up with scientific, industrial and technological advances, it has failed to review and evaluate the moral dimensions of these developments. Some of these problems; Problems caused by sexual orientations, sexual exploitation, prostitution, widespread drug use, income inequality and poverty, destruction caused by wars, human rights violations, environmental pollution and possible dangers of transhumanism.
Unfortunately, given the current conditions, it would not be difficult to foresee that moral problems will deepen further in the future. This will further expand the set of moral problems humanity already faces. Therefore, determining a strategy that can find solutions to these problems should be humanity’s greatest effort. By creating and implementing this strategy, we need to be cautious against the moral and ethical problems that we may encounter in the future. We must review and strengthen our moral and ethical values, thus being prepared for potential moral problems in the future. As a society, we must strive to strengthen our social values and norms in order to prevent moral and ethical difficulties. Determining policies and strategies to solve these problems allows individuals and societies to use their responsibilities and potential at the highest level. This is a critical step in increasing our capacity to deal with future moral and ethical challenges.
As children of Adam and Eve, we have to face the moral and ethical problems brought about by today’s rapid developments and find effective solutions to these problems. Otherwise, human life may face great dangers and we may suffer more than the benefits brought by these developments. If we consciously deal with these problems, taking into account our ethical values, we will have the chance to successfully solve the moral and ethical problems we may encounter in the future and thus increase the welfare and happiness of humanity.
By following in the footsteps of Adam and Eve, we experience the weight and privilege of feeling the duty of building a more just, peaceful and sustainable world on our shoulders. Aware of this great responsibility, we are working with all our strength to move towards the future. We are spending all our energy to achieve this noble mission. On behalf of humanity, on behalf of yourself and future generations, we sincerely expect you to support us in the preservation and improvement of this world inherited from Adam and Eve.
